LETTER: Dick [Richard Williams) at Minneapolis Minn to .my dear loving Myfanwy." She must have been wondering what has become of him. He was very near lost. He was taken down with lumbago and suffered a severe cold. He has received 3 letters from her and never answered 1. He honestly was half crazy, it seems he could not write. He has started to work again and hopes now that he will be able to stand it for the rest of the summer. He never felt so lonesome in his life for her, it seems he wanted to cry like a baby all the time. He is going to try and cheer up again. He thought her last letter was so cheerful it filled his heart with joy and so encouraging for their future welfare. If he only had the means he would leave America tomorrow. He only wished she was there to nurse him as he understands she and her mother are experts at it. He has received a letter from Auntie Ann and Uncle Bob saying how good her folks had been to her while she was sick. He thinks it too bad they have left ? Trevor villa, he now will lose his rights at the little pantry window as some other tenants will be living there. But he feels confident he won’t lose his rights to the person that used to come to the window. His aunt had told him about her taking that old lady to ?Llety, he was pleased they treated her so nicely, it must have been amusing with Taid and the family and Mary (Mrs. Jones) admiring her dress so. He imagines she made a very good impression on them all. He knows of only one boy in Llanfairfechan who is the same age as him to the day and that is Richard Lewis, who’s father is a cobbler or shoemaker and who used to live near the zink chapel when it was at Pant y Rhedyn but to make sure he will look up the record of his birth which was taken by Mrs. Ellis in proving his mother’s will and goes something like Richard Williams was born at Havod Vadog Feb.5 1877. He thinks she is between 25 and 30, Nov.17 in some year as she will not tell him. It looks as if he will have to look at her teeth. She mentioned her face was getting round and fat and he thinks she should have her picture taken again so that he can see. He will send her his on a post card when he goes down to the city. He is drawing his letter to a close as some of his friends want him to go and hear the great revivalist ?Gibsy Smith.
