LETTER: Annie, Osborne House, Llanfairfechan, to Winni[fred Anne Evans] apologising for not having written before. She asks if Winnie is back. R.R. had gone to see his daughter at Madryn and Megan had gone to the hospital where she still had to do 2 hours `nursing’, the matron had said that she was one of the best voluntary helpers as she never failed to turn up. She expects the Red Cross then would be over about Christmas. Megan looked well in her uniform and made her wish she was young again. Eric had come home for a few days some time ago bringing his wife and mother-in-law, it was quite an ordeal as she got into a panic when facing strangers but the mother-in-law was quite a nice lady. The college was returning to Llandaff in October and they had found a tiny house for Eric, so he was pleased as they had moved twice in twelve months and it would be nice to have their own house. Eric seemed amused at the smallness of the house and says some of the furniture would have to go in through an upstairs window. At night she dreamed of Llanrwst and in the daytime wondered when she would be able to get as far, as the buses were too crowded. Megan and she managed to get to Bangor about a fortnight before and had had to stand for an hour in the queue coming back. The station then was so far that she could not manage the walk. R.R. was to have a week’s holiday soon. She asks if Winnie could come to see her.
