REPORT. "Youth fears the Dust" Dr Evan Williams, Ffestiniog Medical Officer stated that there had been a constant decline in population since 1931 when there were 9078 people living in Ffestiniog. The estimate in 1951 was 6871 and "The population will continue to dwindle so long as the fear of dust disease persists amongst the young".
