LETTER: Rev. [B.J.] Binns, Caernarfon to Lord Newborough, re the national school at Bontnewydd. The schoolroom is too small for the number of children. It is proposed to enlarge the classroom and build a schoolmaster’s house. It will cost £180. The Privy Council and the National Society have promised £114. The rest is to be raised by voluntary contributions. Asks Lord Newborough for a donation. This will also provide an adequate means of instruction for the children of the poor in the locality. Mr. T.A. Smith intends to contribute stone and slates for the building.
