LETTER: H. Bayley Williams, Pantafon to Lord [Newborough], asking on behalf of the bearer of the letter, his Lordship’s tenant, Grace Owen, Ty Canol, nr. Cwm y Glo, for the tenancy of the small take in succession to her late father, David Owen. The tenancy had been held by her late father and grandfather. As Grace Owen was a single woman she wished to take a married sister and husband. She did not wish to take her sister in until she had his Lordship’s permission. Grace Owen was a spinster in delicate health and wished for company but did not wish to give up the tenancy to them.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
