LETTER: Capt. Browning of the Horse Guards to Lord Newborough. He has been to the War Office about Mr. Collis’ claim. However, they will not consider claims after 16 years have passed unless the claimant can produce some evidence. He would have been able to look at the papers as a personal favour but unfortunately they have been transferred from the War Office. Mr. Collis must produce some more substantial evidence. He can suggest some suitable schools if Lord Newborough is still intending to send Wynn to school. He was sorry he could not visit Collinson’s ship before it sailed on its wild goose expedition. He thinks they are searching the wrong side of the continent.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
