LETTER: Daniel and Ellen Morris, 189 Falkner St.,Liverpool, to John, acknowledging his letter. She had been with Auntie Polly and Gwen, to the Eisteddfod Gymanfa Ganu, which she is sorry he had missed, but ’it is more important to get on with the war’. She has kept Lloyd George’s speech for him to see later, which she enjoyed immensely. Mrs. Lloyd George and Megan were also there. They had a long chat with General Sir Owen Thomas and also spoke to Dr. Hartwell Jones and many others of Welsh notoriety. Writes about the family who have called to see them. Thanks him for his good wishes on their silver wedding. Uncle Will has presented them with a lovely antique cream jug (1780). She hopes he receives this letter on his 21st birthday, which they hope to celebrate at a later day when peace is again in our land. Appended: NOTE: Auntie Polly to John wishing him a happy birthday.
