LETTER: David Williams [Broneryri] at London, to Lord Newborough. Williams writes that the North Wales Railway Bill is shortly to be introduced by Col. Pennant; Directors are now required for the company and he offers his Lordship the opportunity of becoming one by buying £500 worth of shares, giving him limited liability of the company’s affairs. Williams says it is important for landed proprietors to take the posts of directors, lest they fall into the hands of London jobbers. He then lists many gentlemen that both Parliament and the Board of Trade are favourable to the proposed undertaking and he hopes that his Lordship may even accept the seat as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
