LETTER: G. Glyn of London to Lord Newborough, concerning the Bangor to Porthdinllaen [Railway]. He states that the proposed project is going ahead. He also mentions proposals by the Chester and Holyhead Company of building a railway from Caernarfon to Bangor. Endorsed: DRAFT of Letter in reply to above: His Lordship informs Glyn that he and Mr. Chadwick of the Railway Company have already corresponded concerning the wishes of his Lordship about the proposed undertaking. He also informs Glyn that Chadwick hopes to raise the capital needed for the venture on the London money market within a few days. His Lordship informs Glyn that the proposed Caernarfon to Bangor line has been abandoned. Therefore, his Lordship assures Glyn that the Porthdinllaen project is the one worthy of support by the local gentry.
