LETTER: Thomas Barber, Lower Thames Street, London to Lord Newborough. Barber informs his Lordship of the first regular shipping service between London and the Isle of Man, established by himself. Barber hopes that his Lordship will permit the vessel engaged on this service to call regularly at Caernarfon. Enclosed: LETTER (6 Sep. 1884): giving full details of the first shipping service between London and the Isle of Man. The letter gives details of London’s present trading and commercial services and refers to legislation recently passed by parliament in the 7th and 8th Victoria Cap 43 Acts concerning trading with the Isle of Man. Barber hopes for the support and encouragement of Lord Newborough in his trading venture.
