LETTER: Rev. L. Pugh, Abererch, to Lord Newborough. Pugh reports that he is in some difficulty concerning the stipend of his parish and has taken his case to the Rev. H. Holland Edwards. Edwards has forwarded £37.10.00 to Pugh, with which he has bought 10¼ acres of land. Pugh asks his Lordship for financial assistance to pay the Governors of Queen Anne’s Bounty a sum of £200. The Bounty Board has, in turn, promised to help Pugh towards the costs of buildings on his newly acquired land. Appended: NOTE of Reply to above letter: His Lordship refused to help Pugh financially.
