The Cargo vessel motor vessel Alice Bowater passing down the river Mersey. Built for the Bowater Steamship Co. (subsidiary of the Bowater Paper Corporation) between 1958-1961. 4,000 tons gross approximately, one of six ships designed for carrying pulp and pulpwood from the small Norwegian port of Risor. Also equipped with Pleuger rudders to enable them to sail up the narrow, winding river Swale to Ridham in Kent.
