LETTER: Farrars and Co., Lincoln’s Inn, London, to George Bettiss, Caernarfon, acknowledging receipt of the copy of the Plas Newydd lease and stating that they thought that Ellis Hughes had forfeited his right to have it continued after his father’s death by assigning a moiety of it and therefore that when Evan Hughes died, Lord Newborough would not have a right to take possession of the whole farm without Ellis Hughes or Robert Williams having a claim to anything. George Bettiss had, therefore, agreed to give £90 a year for nothing. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 3004]
