LETTER: William Travers, Lincoln’s Inn, London to Sir John Wynn, Chelsea College, informing Sir John that he has read Mrs. Jones’ letter in answer to the objection he had made. If Sir John was satisfied that the letter was her own doing he felt that the deed could be safely executed. He thought that the settlement was very badly drawn and that Mrs. Jones must have been imposed upon. All the money had come into the power of her husband so that the original intention of the settlement, which was to benefit her and her issue, could be defeated by her husband. He would direct Mr. Webley to take the deed to Sir John on the following Monday or Tuesday. There was a large call on him for money and he asks for a sum on account. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 2938]
