LETTER: Joseph Peers, Ruthin, to Lord Newborough re Bishop Goodman’s Trust. He informs his Lordship that Mr. Thelwall’s enquiries with Miss Angharad Lloyd had confirmed his statement that the heir of the bishop’s brother, Gabriel, by the male line was not known. Mr. Thelwall had made a statutory declaration on the subject showing that his Lordship was the heir by the female line. The trustees, therefore, gladly accepted his Lordship’s aid in carrying out the Trusts. He had written to Mr. Lloyd to inform him that his Lordship was an acting trustee and asked him that in all future arrangements for leases to state that the trustees would not bind themselves to make a title by descent either to the heirs of the bishop’s brother Gabriel, or sister, Susan. The acting trustees had presented a memorial to the Charity Commissioners asking for an amalgamation of the three trusts relating to Ruthin School but, as yet, had received no reply. [N.L.W.
