ACCOUNT of work done at Abermenai by Simon Griffin Sheward, and covering letter from S.G. Sheward humbly asking what further work is to be done to Bodvean church or the barracks at Abermenai. He recounts the work that has been done. A heavy rainfall choked the well at Glynllivon with sand but it has now been repointed. He discusses the question of wages for James Glover, the carpenter who is demanding a rise now the working day is longer. He thinks 10/- a week and small beer is sufficient, but the carpenter wants 12/- a week in summertime. He is a useful employee as he can talk Welsh as well as English. On dorse is a plan of the barracks. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 2372]
