ACT OF PARLIAMENT: (20 Vict. cap XIX). An Act to provide for the Relief of the Poor in extra parochial places. Appended: NOTES (n.d.) in pencil re the relevance to the Abbey. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 1375] Attached: ORDER (22 June 1858) of the Poor Law Board that the Abbey should be added to the Llanrwst Union. Appended: NOTES (n.d.) in pencil. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 1376] Attached: CIRCULAR (31 May 1859) from the Poor Law Board, Whitehall to the Overseers of the Poor requesting a return of houses and land exempted from the payment of Poor Rate and a duplicate return (7 Sept. 1895) for the township of Maenan. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 1377] Attached: LETTER (29 May 1858) Poor Law Board, Whitehall to William Elias, Llanrwst, asking him to inform them when he entered his duties as Overseer of the Abbey and had levied a rate. Appended: NOTE (n.d.) in pencil that as there were no poor there was no need for a rate. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 1378] Attached: LETTER (9 July 1858) Pool Law Board, Whitehall, to William Elias, the Abbey, Llanrwst referring him to the Act 20 Vict.
