LETTER: J.P. DeWinton, Caernarfon, to Lord Newborough re the 1072 sq.yds. of land to be taken from the Harbour Trust. Enclosed: PLAN of area of land between Love Lane and St. Helen’s Road, owned by David Morris and DeWinton & Co.. Annexed: LETTER (23 Dec. 1868): Morgan Lloyd, Castle Square, Caernarfon, to Lord Newborough, re the valuation of the property required by the Railway Co. which Mr. Lloyd believes to be most fair. LETTER (24 Dec. 1868): G. Picton Jones, Bodvean and Glynllivon Estates Offices, Caroline Place, Pwllheli, to Lord Newborough re Mr. Thomas’ valuation of the land to be purchased from his lordship by the Carnarvon Town Railway Co. The highest amount Mr. Picton Jones could obtain was £3400. He gives details of how the land was valued. DRAFT OF REPLY: [Lord Newborough to Mr. G. Picton Jones informing him that he will not agree to any valuations which fall short of what he would have to pay the Harbour Trust. Moreover, the land should be valued per square yard.
