ACCOUNT BOOK of the slate quarries of Lord Newborough at Glynrhonwy, pa.[rish] Llanrug. The accounts are entered for a period of six weeks and consist of returns of the quantity and price per thousand or ton of the various sizes of slates produced by each bargain taker and the resulting payment made to them. The account book also contains records of the payments made to the boys together with particulars of payments for such items as clearing rubbish, laying rails, haulage, building, equipment and the cost of powders. The book includes Chwarel y Ffynnon, Chwarel y Ffordd, Chwarel Hir, Chwarel Isaf and Chwarel Bach. The accounts for the first two Bargains are missing. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 1998]
