OPINION of counsel on the title to the estate of Ardda contracted to be purchased by the trustees of Lord Newborough. Appended: COPY LETTER, (1 Dec. 1795): W. Myddleton, Temple, to Lord [Newborough] informing the recipient that Mr. Williams was ready to pay his mortgage money but had not prepared his deed or release of his mortgage. Mr. Williams had already paid £1000 of the £4000 which was improper. The decree in Chancery having taken notice of the mortgage was the reason for paying the entire £4000 into Court. He had hoped that when the £4000 and interest was paid to them the trustees could be paid when the conveyance of the estate was properly executed. When they had the money he was to apply to the court for their order to pay it to the Bank and then the Master would consider the question of whether it was a proper purchase. If the Master approved the Lord Chancellor could order the money to be paid on having the conveyances. He would try to avoid going through the courts because of the delay and expense. This expense would come from the £4000 unless his Lordship made up the deficiency out of the interest. He would send a copy of this to Mr. Holford for his information and to forward to his Lordship. Mr. Parry thought that they should go through the Court. [N.L.W. Glynllivon 4078]
