LETTER: Margaret Trotter, Brandsbury, [?co. Hants.], to [?Thomas Atkinson, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London], to enclose a letter from Mrs. Hughes [present], in which she says Mr. Jackson, the landlord at Whitchurch, is claiming £9 for damage caused by Wynn and his brother. Mr. Trotter feels this sum should be paid to Mrs. Hughes. She also encloses [present] a bundle of bills and vouchers for her housekeeping expenses for the twelve months that she kept house at Whitchurch. Mr. Wynn is improved in person and manners, and she hopes his brother will be likewise, when he returns with Mr. Phillips. Enclosed: LETTER (9 June 1820): [Mrs.] A. Hughes, at 143 Sloane St., [London], to Mrs. Trotter, 46 Berners St., Oxford St., [London] . She has been ill but is now better. She has had a very unpleasant visit from her late landlord at Whitchurch, Mr. Jackson, who had threatened to take Mr. Wynn before a magistrate for cutting down fruit trees.
