LETTER: M[aria Stella] N. Sternberg, Paris, to her son Spencer, Lord Newborough, thanking him for his letter. She is glad everyone is well, and that they like the chairs she invented. She is sorry so many trees at Glyn have been blown down. Edward [Sternberg] has been forced by his father to quit the army against his will. He is a fine young man, and the £200 p.a. she allows him is a ’good lift’ to him. She hopes she has not caused offence by asking for money. [N.L.W. Bodfean 76/7.]

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
