Clergy with Cathedral in background. Bishop C.A.H. Green with the Dean and Chapter of Bangor Cathedral. Seated next to the Bishop is the Dean, the Very Rev’d Griffith Roberts (bearded and wearing cope). Canon John Fairchild, principal of St. Mary’s College, is seated first left. He was Principal from 1884 when the North wales Training College was still at Caernarfon. Archdeacon A.O. Evans is seated second from the right. On the back row, third from the left, is the Diocesan Registrar, A.I. Pryce. The other lawyer is probably Judge C. Dougles Pennant, the Diocesan Chancellor. See Bywgraffiadur for A.O. Evans and A.I. Pryce. Date of photograph: possibly at Green’s enthronement as Bishop of Bangor, 30 October 1928 and certainly before Dean Griffith Roberts’ retirement in 1934 (aged 89). [Information supplied by David R. Price, Bangor, August 1993.]

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
