LETTER: Robert Davies to [William Salesbury], requesting him to loan £10 to the writer’s cousin, Thomas Johnes, who is in durance for this sum to Mr. Thomas Theolwall; and he guarantees the said sum. Appended: 1. RECEIPT (2 September 1640) of David Lloyd for £10 received from Mr. Salesbury. 2. LETTER (n.d.): William Salesbury to Mr. Davies, agreeing to the loan of money and directing it to be paid to Rees ap Robert Griffith. Endorsed: LETTER (25 September 1640): William Salesbury, Bachynbyd, to [Robert Davies]. Cousin John Wynn says it is not safe, without seeing the original deed, to deal with Peers if the rental be for more than £20. £10 should thus be paid to the bearer, Humphrey ap John, as he needs the money. Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
