LETTER: John and Catherine Timothy, Porthmadog to [Capt. Edward Williams]. They received his telegram too late to answer last night, but telegraphed to Newport this morning. They tell him to do as he thinks best. The weather was too bad to return home on Monday. Things are very bad, but they must keep up their spirits, and trust that trade will improve soon or else ’most of us will have to find lodgings at the Union’. They are both in middling health, and he (John Timothy) feels much better after being at Nefyn. He found a nice young lady for Edward there, about 20 years of age and about the ’same length’ as him. The Wern with Robert Lloyd left this morning for Hamburg with ?366 tons slate. The Janet and Alice is coming there with potatoes from Hamburg. All at Glanllyn and Ty gwyn are well.
