XS3910/2/2

Large aerial view of Bangor city centre, looking east across the Cathedral and along High Street to St. Mary’s Church and Orme Road. The new Deiniol Road, Post Office and Public Library are prominent. The Flour Mill on Dean Street is belching out smoke. The old Friars School can be seen in a dilapidated condition. The Bishop’s land along Garth Road has not yet been built on. The Dean Street slums can clearly be seen. Also visible are western parts of Hirael, Caellepa and the bottom of Lon Pobty, the Castle Hotel, the Deanery, and part of Glanrafon. The river Adda can just be seen between the Town Hall and the Cathedral.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
