LETTER: Joseph Hood at Fine Art Galleries, 339 Lord Street, Southport to Messrs. Andrews and Son, to say has received his letter. Was glad of meeting to explain matter in connection with purchase of his pictures. Name of expert who gave opinion of pictures only known to himself. Pictures stated not to be genuine should be given to him. Some errors may have been made unknowingly amidst so many pictures. Explanation of difficulty of establishing originality of paintings. His views as to worthlessness of opinions of experts. Hodge had offered him sum to forge complete history of pictures sold to them. Protestations of his honesty in his trade. May revisit Pwllheli as is trying to find place to retire and form exhibition to prevent time hanging heavy on his hands. Assurance that his information re pictures at their service.
