X/POOLE/5401

MEMORIAL from certain Pwllheli burgesses to Sir Charles Paget, complaining that it is a common electoral practice to distribute ale to the voters during the elections, and pointing out the violence, disruption and immorality this can lead to. They, therefore, beg him not to distribute ale but instead to allow the money to be distributed for the benefit of the poor. If he does this he will win the regard of all moral and respectable inhabitants of the town.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
