CASE of Mr. David Ellis. gives details re marriage settlement (1643) of John Wynne and Jane Evans respecting lands in the township of Rhwng Dwyfor a Dwyfach, comote of Eifionydd, co. Caernarfon. Of the children of this marriage the 2 eldest died, the third was an idiot. Her property was placed in the custody of John White, husband of Anne, the youngest child (though Mary Wynne her sister was her heir). John White withheld all deeds re her property Tyddin Medog, Tyddin y llan, Tyddin Barle, Tyddin Du, Bryn Rhyd and Gwynfrin, in the parish of Llanystudwy, co. Caernarfon. John White enjoyed the property till the death of the idiot Catherine. David Ellis, grandson of Mary Wynne, then recovered the lands. Some time later his tenants were evicted by John White. Makes other allegations about the conduct of the defendants.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
