COPY WILL of John Salusbury of Llanwddan in the parish of Llangystennin, co. Caernarfon, gent. Leaves his estate (subject to a rent charge to his wife Mariana secured by her marriage settlement) comprising Llanwdden, Segyrin, Penrhos and Cae Cyliogin, in the parishes of Llangystennin and Llandrillo, cos. Denbigh and Caernarfon, to trustees John Roberts of Caernarfon, apothecary, and the Rev. Edward Edwards, rector of Llansanffraid, co. Denbighshire, in trust: His wife is to have the rents and profits of the estate during her life. After her death the tenement called Segyrin goes to his sister Catherine during her life; the tenement called Penrhose goes to his nephew John Salusbury Davies during his life (subject to the Poor’s bread). His trustees have power to mortgage the properties to raise the following sums of money after his wife’s death - £20 to his niece Ellin Roberts, £5 to his niece Elizabeth Roberts, £15 to his niece Jane Roberts, £5 to his niece Catherine Roberts, £30 to his nephew John Roberts (if he is still living and returns to the country within 20 years). £5 each to his nephews William Ffoulkes and John Ffoulkes, £20 to his niece Catherine Ffoulkes, £8. 8s. 0d. to his niece Anna Evans, £10. 10s. 0d. to each daughter of Anne Evans, Elizabeth and Ellice Davies, £10. 10s. 0d. to Robert Davies, son of Anne Evans, £5 to his god-daughter Elizabeth Hughes, daughter of his cousin Griffith Hughes, deceased, £1. 1s. 0d. to his god-daughter Ann Lowes of Llansanffraid, £1. 1s. 0d. to his god-daughter Margaret Hughes of Cilmellin, £1. 1s. 0d. to his godson Francis Jones Bradshaw of Abergele, £5 to his cousin Richard Foulkes of Morfa, £14 to his niece Ellin Morris of Rhydydocill in the parish of Cemais, co. Montgomery between her and her children. Leaves £10 to his trustees. Leaves all his property subject to the above charges to his nephews Thomas Evans and John Salusbury Davies with a clause that they are not to sell any part of the lands otherwise his sister Anne Evans will have power to enter the premises. His personal estate is left to his wife whom he appoints as executrix.
