X/POOLE/2276

LETTER: Henry Moxon of Tanfield Court, Temple, London, to Richard A. Poole, re a proposed exchange in 1806 between the Earl of Uxbridge and Sir Hugh Owen, of lands in the parishes of Llangristiolus, Trefdraeth and Trewalchmai, for land in parish of Aberffraw. The exchange was not carried out. Then, in 1814, Sir Hugh’s successor, Sir John Owen, conveyed certain lands to Lord Uxbridge. There was correspondence re the title to the land but all correspondence after 1825 has been lost. The Devisees of the late Lord Anglesey now want to sell one of the farms acquired after the exchange but they cannot find the deed of exchange or the agreement for the sale. Asks Poole if the deeds are in his possession.
