CERTIFICATE of Quarter Sessions that the Coroners’ reports were heard in court: a) on body of John Williams taken at Llys Badrig, in the parish of Abererch; he was crushed by a cart as the horse ran away near the blacksmith’s shop called Gefail Bwlch y ffordd in the parish of Abererch; b) on body of Richard Powell, schoolmaster at Yspytty [Ysbyty Ifan] village. He was a shortsighted person who lost his way on a dark night and died of exposure; c) on the body of William Owen at Pant y ffynnon, in the parish of Clynnog. He was in a fishing beat in Llanaelhaiarn [Llanaelhaearn] bay taking in the nets. The beot overturned and he was drowned. Griffith Roberts, William Thomas, Thomas Solomon, Owen Roberts, Morris Evans, William Roberts, and John Williams were also drowned with him; d) on the body of Thos. Jones at Pentrefelin in the parish of Llanllechid. He fell into the river Dolyddhirion when drunk and was drowned; e) on the body of Evan Roberts at Tan yr hol in the parish of Llandygai. He was working at Braich y Cafn Slate Quarry when he was killed by a rockfall; f) on the body of Ellis Griffith at Bron y fedw in the parish of Betws Garmon. He was found dead in a field at Bron y Fedw called Cae Newydd. As he was subject to fits it was assumed he died naturally.
