DEFENDANT’S CASE re Lee -v- Hamilton (Great Sessions) re a debt of £100 borrowed from Mrs. Katherine Babington widow, by her brother Lieut Robert Hamilton in 1772. The widow later married Thos. Lee, gent., but no marriage settlement was executed. The widow later cancelled the bond but relatives of Thos. Lee deceased sued out a writ against Major Hamilton for repayment of the debt.
