X/POOLE/303

LETTER: Richard Edwards of Nanhoron to Lord Bulkeley. Counsellor Jones showed him a model of a pike and informed him that a stranger had been distributing pikes among the county people, saying that the quarrymen at Braich y Cefn had made 400 pikes. He is having a meeting with the people who spoke to the stranger and will give him more information soon. England is now left alone to face half the world in arms, the government may call out the supplementary militia. He asks for advance notice so he can look for good reservists and single men so the county is put to as little expense as possible. (with X/POOLE/302).
