X/POOLE/72

LETTER: Mr. Edward Griffith from Caernarfon to Lord Bulkeley. He is daily pestered with the bills of the volunteer seamen and protests that it would be very hard on himself and Capt. Crawley if he had to pay them. He feels himself ill-used in the refusal to pay him £100 from the fund, as the time he has devoted is amply worth that sum. He sends the bills to Lord Bulkeley whom he considers bound in honour to pay them. The county owes him hundreds of pounds already which he advanced on the Menai contest. He accuses the county of great ingratitude. He blames Lord Bulkeley for the matter.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
