X/POOLE/5

LETTER: W. Williams to Poole making suggestions re landowners to be added to the Commission of the Peace and discussing whether they are of age or whether they are suitable persons - Capt. Prichard of Tynewydd and Griffith Thomas of Carreg have ample property qualifications but he is not sure if they are suitable. Also mentions that Lord Powis has property in Penrhyn Du and claims part of the mines there. Makes other suggestions and adds: "I shall not recommend to any of the worthy gentlemen I have named ever to take out their Dedimus lest they should be out of pocket of a nose if they should appear on the Bench at Caernarvon [Caernarfon]. The Denbighshire mob did no more than make a justice put on a Clogshia instead of Boots".
