COPY LETTER: William Jackson, Thomas Graham, Isaac Humphreys, John Murray, ?William Cameron, W. Golding, G. Levis and Richard Kennaway at Calcutta to Major General Giles Stibbert and Managers of the Bengal Military Orphan Society in London, stating that on the application of Col. George Deare and Capt. Horsford, executors to the late Capt. George Frederick John Sampson of the Bengal Artillery, decd. his 3 orphans have been admitted to the benefits of the Institution. An allowance for their education and maintenance will be made to the Rev. Charles Sampson in whose charge they are. Capt. Sampson died in February 1792, after very honourable service in the army. lie was seriously wounded at Sattimungnlum in Sept. 1790. His children are called Mary Ann (born 1782), Thomas (born 1783), and a boy, name forgotten (born 1788).
