PAPERS OF BIRCH, CULLIMORE, AND DOUGLAS, OF FRIARS, CHESTER, SOLICITORS

This list comprises those records of Birch, Cullimore and Douglas of Friars, Chester, solicitors and their antecedents Helps, Birch, and Co., and Helps, Parker, and Birch, relating to land and property in Llandudno and several other areas between 1850 and 1934. It has been compiled in such a way as to preserve the provenance of each of the archive bundles, each bundle relating to a particular piece of land and property or properties upon it. The individual bundles themselves contain mainly draft deeds but also correspondence and other supporting papers. Before the description of individual documents within a bundle, the bundle itself is described in the form of a headnote. This details the land and properties covered by the deeds as well as giving an overview of the history of ownership where appropriate. Consequently, the type of deed only is included in the list entry, e.g. mortgage, transfer of mortgage etc. If more information on what part of the land or property the deed refers to is required the appropriate document can be consulted, where details of rents, considerations etc. can also be found.
