LETTER (25 October 1880): J. Davies, Bodfeirig School, Tregarth, to the Ven. Archdeacon Evans. He encloses a copy of the Rules of Royal Penrhyn Choral Society and asks for an inscription to be added to the silver cup. He agreed that the cup should not leave the neighbourhood, and regrets that the clergy are not members old the Committee as well as of the Society. He maintains that he is blameless in not having invited the clergy to Committee, and refers to rule iv which releases him of this duty. Enclosed: RULES of the Royal Penrhyn Choral Society (also in Welsh). Endorsed: COPY LETTER (1859) by Rev. J. Evans) Llanllechid Rectory; Sir Charles Grey to Lord Penrhyn. He sends the cup which is to be awarded in her majesty’s name to the Royal Penrhyn Choral Society which sang before Her Majesty at Penrhyn Castle on 16th October.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
