LETTER: Maurice Humphreys at Mr. Rogers in Angel Street, St. Martin’s Lee Grant nr. Newgate, London to Mr. Thomas Humphreys, pa. Edern, Llyne. He has seen Wm. Prichard who told him that they were in good health. M.H. has not been well. He has heard that Beverly has got Jane Grith. T. [sic] with child and quit the country for it. He was glad to hear that the hay and crops were good this year. Wm. Pritchard is advising his father to stay next year in his place of abode as the rougish monkey Beverley can’t put him out next Michaelmas by force. He likes where he is but business is slack. He shall quit before long. He is glad to hear `that bully’ is so fine a dog. Train him well and don’t let him follow every vagabond.
