He recalls how his brother’s master demanded a guinea for teaching him mesuration, gauging, geometry, etc, T.H. finds this surprising His brother needs to practice a fair hand. He must also not speak one word of Welsh with Tom Watkin at home or abroad ";for that wll spoil the design";. M.H. should show this letter to Mr. Butler and ask him to talk to M.H. `s master re the purchase of clothes. Poor fishing this summer. The corn looks poorly. Mr. Hughes, Llanjestyn, Humphrey cooper, Ann Joseph, Hurbert Griff, Vincent Parry, the young counsellor, John Gruff, Caernarfon have all died. Robin Davies, shoemaker has married Jane Griffith Twmpath, Robin Hughes, Bodryna- bary has married Cath Jones, Cefendeisiog. Asks for news of life in Dublin....
