WILL of Roger Mostyn of Mostyn, co. Flint, baronet. He wishes to be buried privately in the pa. church of Eglwys Rhos, Co. Caern. He appoints £20,000 to be equally divided amongst his daughters. Essex, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Anna Maria, Catherine and Mary Bridget when they each reach the age of 21 or are married, should any of them die before then, their portion is to be divided among the surviving daughters should he have only 3 younger children at the time of his death £15,000 to be equally divided between them to be paid in same manner as above said £20,000. Should he have only 2 younger children at the time of his death £14,000 to be equally divided between them to be paid in same manner as above said £20,000. He gives to Right. Hon. his Grace John, Duke of Roxburghe and his brother Thomas Mostyn, clerk all his manors or lordships, capital, messuages, lands, t’ments, mills and rents, co. Chester in trust for 500 years to levy £10,500 as an addition to the portions of his younger children, to be divided as follows his dau. Essex £2,500, Charlotte, £2,500, Elizabeth £2,500 Anna Maria £1,000, Catherine £1,000, and Mary Bridget £1,000, to be paid when they attain 21 years, or are married, should any of the children die before this, their portion is not to be raised; until these portions become payable to pay to his wife Dame Margaret Mostyn money for maintenance and education of daus. not exceeding amount of interest on their respective portions at rate of £3 in £100 p.a., and after the death of his wife to pay such sums for maintenance and education of daus. as shall not exceed the interest of their respective portions at the rate of £4 in £100 p.a. If all his daus die before all or any of portions paid and in case of failure of reversions and remainders then amount unpaid shall cease. Gives to his wife Dame Margaret Mostyn for her life, the use of his furniture, linen and plate at Gloddaeth and for her place of residence his capital messuage or mansion house called Gloddaeth, co. Carn. with fields, closes and lands lying within road from Eglwvs Rhos Church to common called Wacen Bricks and up to the Parks, and enclosures called Vattw and Vardre. Gives all his manors, lands and t’ments, co. Chester, co. of the city of Chester, co. Flint, Denbigh and Carn. to Jon Thomas and his male heirs, in default of such issue to his brother Thomas Mostyn and his male heirs, and in default of such issue to his own heirs for ever. Appoints gilt plate which he has received from his ancestors and regarded as heirlooms to be kept for such person as his house at Mostyn shall go to. Bequeaths £500 to his brother Thomas Mostyn, £200 to his sister Pennant, £5:00 to his sister Frances Mostyn to be paid 1 year after his decease. All his leasehold estates and interest with remainder of his personal estate to his son Thomas. Appoints his wife Dame Margaret Mostyn and his brother Thomas Mostyn as executors.
