ATTESTED WILL of David Ellis of Gwynfrin, pa. Llanystumdwy, clerk, bequeathing power reserved by a power of his son’s marriage deed to dispose of any sum of money not exceeding £200 chargeable on his real estate to his eldest son Richard Ellis; to his son Zacheus Ellis £600; to his son Owen Ellis £600; to his sis. Catherine Ellis 50/- p.a., and should she survive the term of years granted by her husband, an additional £4 p.a. for the remainder of her natural life; desires that his sons make provision for his brothers; residue of his personal estate to his eldest son Richard Ellis whom he also appoints as executor. Appended: CODICIL: 8 January 1760. D.E. apprehends that will not valid in regard to power mentioned therein. CODICIL: 21 April 1760. Annuls part of will bequeathing £600 to his son Owen Ellis and settles in trust on Rev. Zacheus Hughes of Trefan, clerk, David Griffith of Pwllheli, grocer, Richard Ellis of Bachwen, clerk and Zacheus Ellis of Gwynfryn, clerk, £150 for use of said O.E. provided they think fit to call upon his executor in case they think it beneficial for him to set up as an apothecary; otherwise interest of money to be paid by his executor; leaves O.E. interest of £500 to be paid at 4% for life, and after his death to his son Zacheus Ellis for life, and after his death to heirs of D.E. for ever. CODICIL: 22 April 1761. Declares that son O.E. to have no power to sell, mortgage or alienate said annuity without the consent of major part of Trustees; said money to be paid by his executor out on purchase with all convenience of some lands.
