LETTER: Frances Lloyd George at Avalon, Churt, Surrey, to Mr: `E.P.’ [E.P Evans, Election Agent of David Lloyd George] with news of the progress of Frank Owen’s biography of Lloyd George which they hope to publish in the spring. Completion of the work has been delayed due to their having obtained access to new material in the Balfour papers and at Windsor Castle Interesting sources secured include correspondence between Lloyd George and Sir William Robertson Nicoll and one letter written during the Boer War by Sir Charles Dilke. Also extensive correspondence with Churchill She will not be able to come down to Wales until the book is in its final stages She praises Frank Owen’s style `lively and modern but not journalese’ The book contains about 500,000 words, but they hope to publish it in one volume. She thanks `E.P.’ for the photograph, and hopes his health has improved. Jennifer [Stevenson, her daughter] is at Bristol University getting her Teaching Diploma, and wants eventually to teach in a native school in Bechuana land. She sends greetings for Christmas and the New Year.
