LETTER from R. T. Hill to his father, W. Hill. He has just returned from Gvydyr, Lord Palmerston, who has slate mines in the area, has been talking to Lord Willoughby and said that the Cae Coch mine was one of great wealth and expected Willoughby to be getting large quantities of royalties from it. After this, Lord Willoughby asked Mr. Kennedy if the mine has been worked as well as it might. He has convinced Kennedy of this, but mentioned that should a water place be stopped up then efficiency could be increased, he has said this was valueless but greater production would mean greater royalties ad in the letter he congratulates himself on having convinced him. He warns his father that Kennedy wants him to enquire after the cost of a crane and a weighing machine and that he himself needs £10 to pay the men at the new place.
