FILES emanating from the County Surveyor’s Dept. and transferred directly to Archives Service; some files of transient interest have been destroyed. Those remaining are listed in reference number order; all are given the prefix 27/_, which suggests that they formed one section of the County Surveyor’s filing system at the time of creation. They deal with the physical and logistic needs and problems of the ARP and Civil Defence, and also to some extent to more general matters related directly to the Department’s problems during the wartime emergency.
