Orme Road under flood, as seen from Beach Road, Bangor c.1919 Richard (Dic) Hughes stands mid-road in a rowing boat asking people if they need anything: they would throw a basket on a rope out of an upper window into which he would load their shopping. Miss Maggie Jones (see XM/T/232) says that during the seasonal inundation Beach Road, Bangor, was a river with water flowing halfway up like a river with water flowing halfway up Orme Road.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
