LETTER: Maud [Mrs. G.H. Coldwell], Stoke Lodge, Ludlow, Salop, to John [Colonel J.C. Wynne Finch], re allowing de Valera’s signature to be photographed from the late Colonel Charteris’s visitors’ book. Enclosed: LETTER (21 Jan. 1963): A.L.H. Carter, Peake and Company, 6 and 7 Bedford Row, London, to Mrs. G.H. Coldwell, stating that, as she said, there must be many signatures of de Valera in existence, and that Robinson’s advice that it should not be photographed is sound; NOTE (9 Jan. 1963): [George G. Robinson], re the visitors’ book. He suggests that permission should not be given as it cannot be known in what context the photograph might be used; LETTER (18 Dec. 1962): P.C.C. [Jury], managing director, Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin to George G. Robinson, agent., Charteris Irish estates, Estate Office, Cahir, co. Tipperary, re the visitors’ book of the Charteris family. [Document closed for 60 years after creation.]

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
