NOTE: Edmund Charteris, War Office, to [William] Rochfort, stating that he is enclosing a letter from John Murray, and that it would be interesting to know his history, and that he should be sent a family photograph. Endorsed: LETTER (27 April 1915): John J. Murray, Ballough, Kilmanagh, Callan, co. Kilkenny, to Edmund Charteris, expressing sorrow to him and his brother, Colonel Richard B. Charteris, on their mother’s death, and asking for a photograph of her family, since he so often heard his mother talking of Lady Margaret’s father, Lord Cahir, and his sister Jane, who married the Lord Chancellor of Ireland, Baron Manners. He offers to show Edmund Charteris around if he came to Ireland.

Page Language

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
