NOTE by [?William] Rochfort on an interview with Father Burke at Lismore (31 July 1930), re the Cahir family records, mentioned inter alia is the fact that Sarah Nicholls was the mother of young Lord Cahir, who married Miss Jeffreys, nothing being known of the father, although rumour had it he was transported, that one of the later Lords Cahir was a Catholic priest, and that the young Lord Cahir was at school at Liege.
